The Dangarita

All things deserve to be designed well and a cocktail is no exception. Daniel has been crafting homemade margaritas for so long that family and friends have come to refer to them as the “Dangarita”.

“We have limes!” is usually the first thing Daniel hears when he walks thought the doors at his in-laws. The recipe is quite simple which, like most good design, is the key! Never make just one. This recipe makes two delicious Dangaritas.

Step 1: Gather your ingredients

  • 4 limes

  • 1 orange

  • 2 oz Hornitas Silver Tequila (or another delicious 100% agave tequila)

  • 1 oz Cointreau (sub Grand Marnier for a smoother taste)

  • 1 1/2 teaspoon pure maple syrup (or to taste)

Step 2: Craft your Dangarita

  • Start by rimming two cocktail glasses of your choice (we prefer a rocks glass) with Tajin—if you don’t know what this is, you’ve been missing out!

  • Squeeze four limes and one orange into a cocktail shaker.

  • Add 2 oz of tequila,

  • Add 1 oz of Cointreau

  • Add 1 1/2 teaspoon pure maple syrup

  • Fill the shaker with ice.

  • Shake for a good 30 seconds or until your hand starts to freeze.

  • Pour into rimmed glass

For a smokey twist on this simple recipe grill the citrus before squeezing it into the shaker.
