TriBeCa Loft | New York, NY
This Tribeca, NYC residence was designed by architecture and interiors firm Specht Architects. The client is an avid collector of rare mid-twentieth-century art, objects, and furniture which created an interesting question for the design team. How do you make a space that complements the artifacts and still feels like home? Inspiration was drawn from the work of Finnish architect and furniture designer Alvar Aalto as well as pieces already present in the space. The team worked closely with Madera to develop the perfect white washed ash wood to be used on the floors, but also throughout the apartment in intricate millwork pieces. In the end, the home speaks for itself, perfectly modern and perfectly timeless.
