Madera specializes in European Oak, Domestic White Oak and Black Walnut. We offer a variety of cuts and grades, which vary in appearance, character and stability.
EUROPEAN CENTER CUT OAK FLOORING
European Oak is typically cut from very large, straight trees and is thus characterized by a clean overall look and unique grain structure. Rustic Grade will include moderate knotting and sap, while Prime Grade shows minimal pin knots and sap lines.

DOMESTIC LIVE SAWN WHITE OAK FLOORING
Pennsylvania White Oak flooring is typically cut from the upper portion of smaller growth trees, which contributes to the greater character seen in Domestic versus European Oak. Character Grade will show distinctive cathedral graining, knotting and sap lines, while Select Grade shows minimal pin knots and sap.
CHARACTER GRADE
DOMESTIC RIFT AND QUARTERED WHITE OAK FLOORING
Rift and Quarter Flooring is characterized by it's vertical grain and medullary rays (also known as flecking). The rift cut portion of the board will exhibit a very clean and straight grain, while the quartered portion will exhibit greater movement. Character Grade allows for knotting and increased sap presence. Select Grade, however, will only allow for minimal pin knots and less sap.
